Mr G's Mondeo Muddle- KAM Servicing

This week we received a visit from Mr G who arrived at our Bulwell depot in quite a state. As he pulled up to the garage and parked outside of our large workshop, the boys readied themselves for the next mystery. He was seated in his Ford Mondeo and he looked rather distressed behind the wheel. When he eventually made his way to the reception he was wary of letting us take his car.
“Kev you won’t believe what I have been through with this car and I just want someone to fix it once and for all.” Mr G was not happy and it soon became clear why. “Kev I have had the same problem in my car for many weeks now and I just can’t seem to find anyone to fix it.” Mr G explained that his Ford Mondeo had been unable to rev beyond 2000 revs and when it reached 2000 it would go flat. “Kev I took it straight to my local garage and I haven’t stop spending or should I say wasting money ever since.” Mr G had taken his car to 4 garages and the problem was still persisting. Mr G was right to be wary of garages and now KAM was his last hope. “Kev my friend recommended you and so I am here pleading with you to find and fix the fault. I hope I can trust in the KAM team.
We assured Mr G that here at KAM we aim to help all of our customers get the best car repairs at the lowest prices. Moreover we will not rest till we get to the bottom of any and all problems that may be facing your car. “You don’t need to worry Mr G we will ensure that your car is given the best care and we promise to find the problem” said Ben peering into the car with intrigue. Mr G let go of some of his reluctance and left the car in the capable hands of our mechanics. We then let him use one of our courtesy cars so that he would not be caused any inconvenience.

It was Benjamin Button’s turn to solve this week’s mystery and it was not long till he had hoisted the car up to see where the fault may lie. He noticed from the previous sales invoices that a lot of parts within the car had already been replaced. We had to look over the parts to ensure that none of them had been fitted improperly. Thankfully the parts had been fitted correctly even if they were unnecessary. Here at KAM we only use parts that are needed and we will only charge for the work that is necessary to your car.  Ben then got to work first undertaking some visual observations to see if the fault was visible.
After two hours of testing Ben removed the exhaust system and started to test it. The results were released from our state of the art machines and it was not long till the famous words were heard ringing through the workshop. “I’ve got it Kev.” It so transpired that the exhaust was blocked and had begun to disintegrate internally. This had been the reason for the revving issues and so had the KAM team finally solved this long-standing mystery.
Ben ordered the new exhaust and it arrived promptly and he began to fit it with military style precision. The middle and rear section were replaced and then a road test was the final piece of the puzzle. Ben returned from the road test a short while later and he had a smile beaming across his face. “We did it Kev. This car is back in the fast lane.”

Mr G arrived later and his sadness was replaced with a huge smile adorning his face. “Kev I am so happy you have fixed my car and that I (finally) came to KAM. At least now I know there is a garage that I can trust. Thanks to all the boys at KAM Bulwell.”

KAM team updates

With the great weather we have been having, now more than ever is the time to have a fully functioning car. For those trips out or special Jubilee parties to attend to, you must make sure that you make the most of the weather by ensuring that your car is in the best shape it can be. Whether you are having a long weekend or just relaxing at home now is the best time to get your car fixed at great prices.

Here at KAM we have been very busy as more and more customers come in to have their cars checked. Sometimes all it takes is a quick check by our talented mechanics and you can be enjoying the open road in no time. With the upcoming Jubilee celebrations and the long weekend to look forward to, you don’t want to be inconvenienced by a faulty car.

Talking of the Jubilee, I hope everyone has a great few days off to get rested and rejuvenated. The Queen’s Jubilee is a special time to celebrate the Queen and I know I will be relaxing and enjoying the weekend with Mandy and the kids. We are the quite the royalists and will very much be basking in the royal glow that will proceed next week. There will be street parties and plenty of food to be consumed, so let the good times roll.

Here at KAM we are dedicated to making our customers our number one priority. For this reason the boys at our Sawley and Heanor depots will be working hard on bank holiday Monday to get rid of those pesky gremlins. We will be open from 9am to 3pm to accommodate our customers. We appreciate that the bank holiday weekend may be the perfect time for some people to get their cars fixed as they enjoy a lazy weekend at home. So if your car is suffering and you have been waiting for the right time to fix it- well the time is now and ‘His Highness Raj’ at Heanor and ‘Senator Shaun’ at Sawley await your call.

Our boys at the other KAM depots will have the bank holiday to get rested so they can prepare for our Jubilee opening. All the KAM depots are open on the Queen’s Jubilee day so if your car is suffering from any problems make sure to bring it in as soon as possible. Our team will get straight to work and you can continue to enjoy the festivities.

I would also like to point out that with the sudden soaring temperatures, comes the increasing need for air conditioning. We all know the feeling of being locked in a hot car with no working air conditioning. It can be torture and an open window can only cool you down so much. As car experts we know what is best for you and your car and we can very easily carry out a check to ensure that your car is in good working order. We can carry out the test as you wait and this will help us to identify any and all problems. Our magical mechanics can then get straight to work, whether it be a simple lubrication or removing bacteria, make sure you don’t suffer at the hands of a dreaded summer gremlins. Now is the most important time for air con and we want you to remain cool, the whole summer through.  For the best prices on all air conditioning make sure to call in at your nearest depot to ensure that summer is a breeze.

Our Beeston depot is continuing to do well, manned by our very own Super Sunny and Fearless Frank. The depot on Queens Road East, Nottingham has had an influx of customers and our loyal customer base is growing each day. Our customers have left us great feedback and the residents of Nottingham have heeded the call of the KAM team to take on all the dreaded gremlins that feast on their cars. We welcome all makes and models and so if you are in the area and want a fast, affordable service on all car repairs make sure to come down to KAM Beeston.

For a limited time the KAM team at Beeston is offering a number of money saving deals for all of our customers. So if you need your tyres, brakes or most importantly the air conditioning checking make sure to come down to KAM for total piece of mind. KAM Beeston offers the lowest prices on all car repairs and your trusted KAM team will ensure the longevity of your car.

I would also like to announce that my twitter presence has become more prominent recently and I have had a lot of great feedback from customers who are happy with KAM’s great service. KAM continue to move with the times and we are very much enjoying our online presence and the interaction it allows us to have with our loyal customers.

Mr J's Primera Perplexity

This week we received a visit from Mr J, a new customer to KAM, who was in dire need of the KAM teams help. It was a bright and brisk Monday morning and the KAM boys were hard at work. Tasmanian Trev was getting started on his first mystery of the day and the rest of the boys were rooting through their toolboxes, looking for the right tools to effectively beat those pesky gremlins. We have been very busy over the winter period as more and more customers take advantage of our free winter check. If your car becomes victim to the weather the effects can be detrimental and very costly. So come down to KAM and we will check your brakes, tyre pressures, anti freeze, lights and levels to ensure that your car is ready to take on all conditions.
On this particular morning Mr J called into our Bulwell depot and was in quite a panicked state. “Oh Kev, please say you can help me. I don’t know what else to do. Everyone is staring and I just can’t believe this has happened here.” Mr J sounded hysterical and I was eager to hear what predicament had got him in such a twist. “Kev my Nissan Primera has just stopped right here in the middle of the petrol station. Please say you can help.” Mr J had been filling up and had gone to restart the car and was met with a heavy silence as the car had failed to start. Now he was stuck at the petrol station with a broken down car and he needed the KAM team’s help. Tasmanian Trev was first to load up the ‘twuck wid da fwashin lights’ and sped away to rescue Mr J from his petrol station jam. He also went with a courtesy car in tow so that Mr J could get on with his day with no further embarrassment or inconvenience.
Trev arrived back at the garage a short while later. I looked around the workshop and everyone appeared to be busy. There were bodies under cars and heads under bonnets as the boys worked hard on their cars. I did wonder if this would be my chance to dust off my old diagnostic gloves and get stuck into our newest mystery. I was just about to get stuck in when I heard the infamous words “This car is back on the fast track. What’s next?” It was the voice of Benjamin Button and he was ready for his next mechanical mission. He got straight to work and hoisted the car up onto the ramp so the mystery solving could commence. Armed with his gauges and diagnostic machine, Ben got to work and awaited the results. After a short while the infamous words rang out “I’ve got it Kev. I can’t believe it was that easy actually.” It so transpired that the starter motor had shorted out and was the reason for the car’s stagnant position. We called up our fantastic suppliers and the part arrived promptly and Ben fitted it with military style precision. It then came time for the moment of truth and Ben turned the key in the ignition. The boys waited with bated breath as the key was turned and… a gentle purring erupted from the engine. “That’s another one back on the fast track Kev, I wish they were all that easy”
Mr J arrived later and was elated to see his car back in such great condition. “Wow Thanks Kev, as a first time customer it’s so great to see you take care of all your customers with such great care and attention.”

Mr K's Vauxhall Vex

This week it was our Bulwell depot that was the site of heroics and gremlin slaying. It was a busy morning at KAM and the boys were hoisting up the cars onto the ramps to start the diagnosis process. Our power heaters were warming up the workshop and we awaited our next mystery. Just then we received a call from Mr K, an existing customer here at KAM and he was far from happy. “Kev I can’t believe this. I just got it recently and now this happened. What is going on?” Mr K seemed quite upset and he was in need of his trusted KAM team. When I inquired further I was met with an abrupt answer. “I’m stuck Kev.” After some further probing Mr K revealed that he had recently bought a new car, a Vauxhall Zafira, and everything had been going swimmingly. That was until today when he had returned to his car from the supermarket and had found his car to be lifeless. “I am just sat here in the car park and the car won’t start. Please help me Kev.” Mr K was one of our loyal customers and so we immediately loaded up the ‘twuck wid da fwashin lights’ to rescue him. A little while later he returned to the garage and was eager for his car to be fixed. “Kev I have always relied on you in the past and so I am hoping you can offer me the same great service as usual.” We assured Mr K that we would carry out the necessary procedures and that we would find the problem and fix it. He explained that he had bought the car four months ago and that it had been the best car he had ever driven. “But now this has happened and I have absolutely no clue as to why.” We took all of Mr K’s details and then he was dispatched in one of our courtesy cars.
Dan was this week’s mystery solver and was quick to get to work. One of his first tasks was to check the fuel and so he took apart the fuel filter. Now in this car there are two fuel pumps, one is in the fuel tank and is a low-pressure pump and the other is a high-pressure fuel pump, which is connected to the cam belt. After undertaking some primary observations Dan found that there was no fuel coming up to the injectors. Not only that but the fuel inside the fuel filter had some unidentified grit or sandy material in it and had effectively become blocked. “This isn’t making any sense Kev.” Said Dan confused. This would not be a straightforward case and we would need to have a closer examination of the fuel. Dan removed the fuel tank and proceeded to drain the fuel out of it. This was a fairly long process but there lying there in the fuel tank was the answer. “I’ve got it Kev.” It so transpired that there was sand in the fuel tank. The fuel cap had been tampered with and it appeared that someone, perhaps as a harmless prank, had indeed inserted a large amount of sand into the fuel tank. On this occasion it had not caused too much trouble within the car but it could have been much worse.
After a call to our fantastic suppliers the parts arrived and after cleaning out the diesel tank, the low-pressure fuel pump was replaced, the fuel lines were cleaned and we changed the fuel filter. Once the fuel system had been primed and the air bled from the system we then awaited as Dan turned the ignition key and… the car jolted back to life with a gentle purr. “We did it Kev. This car is back on the fast track.”
Mr K arrived later and was ecstatic to have his car fixed and back to its previous vigor. “Wow thanks Kev, I knew I could rely on the KAM team. I guess it’s always better to stick to what you know.”
